NEPALGUNJ: The vehicular movement along the East-West Highway has been halted after the bridge over Gandheli River collapsed in Banke district. According to Kohalpur-based Regional Traffic Police Office, hundreds of vehicles and passengers have been stranded after the bridge collapsed due to the flood in the swollen river, triggered by torrential rainfall. The flood had collapsed the bridge near Shumshergunj and Gandhli River in Agaiya in the district. “Since the river is in flood, we cannot even construct alternative route,” informed the local administration.
