POKHARA: Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police Kedarman Singh Bhandari stressed the importance of advanced technology to cope with crimes. DIG Bhandari said that the police should be equipped with the advanced technology to cope with the ever so changing criminal enterprisess. He said so, addressing the Police Constable Basic Training 105th Batch Convocation held at the Western Regional Armed Police Battalion in Pokhara today. “Peace, security and crime control have become considerable challenge for the police force”, said Bhandari in the programme urging the new graduates to devote themselves in the peace and security of the people while being aware of the human rights. The qualified and trained police force is the need of today’s nation, DIG Bhandari said. In view of the upcoming provincial and federal elections, he added that the trained and qualified police personnel would be the key to the successful completion of elections. On the occasion, top trainees Sandeep Basnet, Top Bahadur Chauhan, Santosh Kumar Gaha, Aman Chaudhary, Prabin Saru, Shikhar Khadka, Upendra Gurung were honoured. All 99 police constables participating the graduation programme after completion of the 11-month Basic Training, have taken duty in the designated areas today itself. The basic training includes the introduction of Nepal and Police organisations, duties and responsibilities of police, peacekeeping, crime control and investigation, police procedural and action, SLR handling, Musketry training and field excercises.
