Lalitpur, January 19:
In a bid to increase women’s entry in the decision making level in public services, technical and non-technical women section officers in the government services who are appearing for exams for the post of under-secretary will be given a rigorous training.
The Mainstreaming Gender Equity Programme (MGEP), jointly supported by the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare and the United Nations Development Programme, will provide the training to the eligible women candidates.
“This training aims to encourage and improve the capabilities of women section officers with minimum four years of experience,” said Radhika Regmi, gender training specialist at the MGEP.
The low presence of women at higher levels is due to the lack of proper guidance and knowledge.
To bring out better results for women in the fight for the posts of under-secretary, moderators from various government services, academicians and experts will train the aspirants for 12 days, she added.
The training will help in improving the candidates’ writing skills and enhance their capacity to do better in the exam.
