Ria/IME Malaysia extend support of Rs 500,000 to flood survivors

KATHMANDU: The Ria/IME Malaysia has deposited Rs 5,00,000 in Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund for the flood survivors in Terai region. In a statement today, Nepal Embassy in Malaysia said, Ria/IME chief Espen Kristensen handed over the fund to Nepali Ambassador to Malaysia Niranjan Singh Basynet. Kristensen said the fund was donated to support the rehabilitation and reconstruction programme for flood survivors. Flash floods triggered by incessant rainfall from July 28 across Nepal killed at least 145 people and more than 3 dozen others are still reported missing in the disaster. Property and crops worth more than 1 billion rupees have been destroyed in inundation in more than 26 districts in Terai region.
