KATHMANDU: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has appealed to Energy Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi not to hike the electricity price as per the recommendation of the electricity tariff fixation committee. In a meeting with the energy minister, held here on Thursday, representatives from CNI also said that if the tariff is hiked, industries will lose their competitiveness and productivity would also be affected. Addressing the concerns raised by CNI representatives, Minister Shahi said the government will not hike the electricity tariff for industries.
