KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Cricket Training Centre and Great Himalayan Cricket Academy advanced to the quarter-finals of the first Ganesh Bahadur Pranmaya Chitrakar Memorial Cup U-19 Cricket Tournament here at the Tundikhel on Sunday. KCTC defeated Xavier International College by four wickets. Put into bat first, Xavier scored 79-9 in their allotted 20 overs before KCTC raced to victory in 17.4 overs losing six wickets. Rabi Shah top scored with 24 runs for Xavier. Rit Gautam claimed two wickets for KCTC. In another match, Great Himalayan defeated Rising-XI by 49 runs. Batting first, Great Himalayan were bowled out for 105 runs in 20 overs before packing Rising to 57 runs in 17.2 overs. Great Himalayan’s Rabindra Jung Shahi scored 30 runs. Rising’s Prakash Singh claimed three wickets. In reply, Rameshwor Bist scored 11 runs for Rising, while Pradip Tandon took three wickets for Great Himalayan.
