Absconding murder suspect held after six years

HETAUDA: Police on Sunday said an absconding murder suspect has been arrested after six years from Chandragiri Municipality-2, on the western outskirt of Kathmandu. Organising a press meet today at the Makwanpur District Police Office the suspect Sagar Pakhrin of Kailash Rural Municipality-10 in Makwanpur was made public. Acting on a tip-off, a police team deployed from the Makwanpur District Police Office nabbed the suspect hiding in Chandragiri Municipality recently, SP Bikash Khanal informed during the press meet. Earlier, Pakhrin was on the run, after shooting 62-year-old Thulimaya Thin of Mulkhola in Hadikhola VDC-7 in the district, to death on March 17,2011. Police seized two sets of home made pistol, gun, a bullet, bullet particles, hashish and Pangolin scales during a raid carried out at Pakhrin's house on April 15, 2016, according to investigating officer Madhu Kumar Thapa. Meanwhile, police are preparing to file five cases against Sagar Pakhrin, informed SP Khannal.
