Supply minister to act tough on the guilty

Kathmandu, September 12 Minister for Supplies Shiva Kumar Mandal today said he would take a proposal to the Cabinet to take punitive measures against those found guilty in the NOC land purchase scam. Speaking at a programme organised by the Media Centre Nepal here today, Minister Mandal said the proposal to take action would be based on the recent investigation and recommendation of the parliamentary committee. He also informed that investigation was continuous on the industrialists and entrepreneurs fleecing consumers by indulging in black-marketing. “Big industrialists involved in black-marketing would be arrested within a few days,” the minister revealed. On the occasion, Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Kedarnath Sharma said the monitoring of market would be conducted strictly in view of the coming festivals. Those imposing exorbitant prices would not be spared, he underscored. Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police Jay Bahadur Chand also said that those violating the law would be brought to book and sued. READ ALSO:
