DAO removes publicity materials in Saptari

Rajbiraj, September 16 Banners, flags and posters, among others election publicity materials, were removed from different public places of Rajbiraj Municipality in Saptari today. In the presence of the representatives from the election commission, Saptari administration removed party flags, banners, pamphlets, among others materials, placed at public places for the election publicity campaigns. Chief District Officer Bhagirath Pandey said the initiation was taken as per the election code of conduct. CDO Pandey added that they had been trying their best to hold the election in fearless and fair atmosphere. “We are making sure that parties and candidates abide by the election code of conduct,” he added. There are nine municipalities and nine rural municipalities in 18 local levels of Saptari. Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Singh at District Police Office, Saptari, said security was tightened to hold the September 18 local level polls in a conducive atmosphere. SP Singh added that security personnel have been patrolling near all border areas. As many as 4000 Nepal Police, 2000 Armed Police Force, 1000 Nepali Army have been deployed for the security during local level elections in the district, SP Singh informed. He added that security personnel have also been deployed at different polling centres.
