LAHAN: CPN Maoist Centre (CPN MC) has emerged victorious in Mirchaiya Municipality of Siraha district in the third phase of local level elections. The third phase of local level elections was held in the eight districts of province no 2, including Siraha, on September 18. Shrawan Kumar Yadav of CPN MC has been elected the Mayor of the municipality with 4,736 votes. His closest contender Sitaram Yadav of Nepali Congress (NC) obtained 3,093 votes, according to the District Election Office, Siraha. Similarly, Jibachi Devi of CPN MC has garnered 4,939 votes to be elected the Deputy Mayor of the municipality. Her closest contender Nirashala Devi Sah of NC secured 3,141 votes. With this, CPN MC has won in four local levels in Siraha district, as of now.
