GAUSHALA: The CPN-Maoist Centre has claimed mayor and deputy mayor posts in Ramgopalpur Municipality in Mahottari district. Ashok Mandal won mayor with 2,944 votes, while his nearest rival Nepali Congress's Rajaram Yadav secured 2,759 votes. Likewise, for deputy mayor, Maoist Center's Sita Devi Sah claimed the post with 2,891 votes. Her closest rival of NC's Pushpa Devi Mahato bagged 2,856 votes. The third phase of local level election was held in eight districts of province no 2, including in Mahottari, on September 18.
