We Nepalese are fond of celebrating festivals. Our jolly mood cannot be disturbed by anything when Dashain broods throughout the country. We become free from our busy schedule. For the rest of the year, we rush here and there in the hope of achieving huge dreams. The festival of Dashain gives relief. Dashain is an opportunity to reunite family members, friends and relatives. Most of us get comparatively longer vacations. We rarely miss to be the part of our village. Especially the platforms, swings put there, gathering of people, playing swings, and sharing each others’ ideas are specialties of villages. Nepal is a country of villages. The hills, brooks, temples, forests, songs of birds etc. allure all to return to their villages at least once a year. The sense of competition creates havoc while celebrating the festival. Mostly people compete in the name of money. These becomes burdens for the  parents. It becomes their duty to fulfill all the needs of their children. Dashain is attached to the festival of wearing new clothes and eating delicious foods. To see the shiny faces of their children, too, parents have to manage all these things. In some parts, it creates further stress for parents to manage food for their family members. In fact, the festival like Dashain is a means to enjoy and entertain. For that, we should use our own resources. There should be healthy competition without any mimicry. Unhealthy competition leads only to the ditch of debt.  Creating a ditch and getting inside it never provides the chance for upliftment. We should contribute a lot for the sustainable development of our country. We should even teach our kids about the value of festivals without any unhealthy competition. Dashain is celebrated as a symbol of victory. The victory is of truth over untruth.  Only eating, playing, and receiving tika and jamara should not be  part of it. We also should work in favour of truth and victory in our real lives too. For that, we should not be showy in our nature. We should cut our coat according to the size of our clothes. As the citizenry of new Nepal, we should celebrate it as a means of reunion and reformation in the modern time. We should never forget the true meaning of unity and celebrate it for the sake of unity. We should create harmonious relationships to get full entertainment. Let’s expand our festive mood and enjoy Dashain with full enthusiasm. Let’s stop competition for the sake of preserving culture and tradition.
