AFC referee seminar
KATHMANDU: FIFA referee Gyani Raja Shrestha today left for Malaysia to participate in the Elite Referee Seminar of Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Shrestha is one of the 58 referees to take part in the seminar slated for January 26-28 in Kuala Lumpur, said ANFA in a release. The best among the participant will be chosen for the upcoming AFC tournaments, the release added. — HNS
Basketball camp
KATHMANDU: The annual Winter Basketball Camp, organised by the Godavari Alumni Association (GAA), concluded on Wednesday. In all, 60 players took part in the camp. The 25-day training programme was conducted by Krishna Maharjan. The two best participats — one each in boy’s and girls’ — were awarded with one year basketball membership at the GAA, said the organisers. — HNS
Aussies drop bowlers
ADELAIDE: Australia dropped bowlers Brett Dorey and James Hopes for their return tri-series clash with Sri Lanka on Thursday after the pair were clobbered around the ground in their last encounter.
