Mild earthquake jolts Baitadi

BAITADI: A moderate earthquake, measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale struck Baitadi district on Wednesday night. The ripple of the quake was also felt in several other adjacent districts from its epicenter in Baitadi, according to the Regional Seismological Centre, Surkhet. Many panic-stricken locals were reported fleeing to safety following the incident. Suresh Shrestha of Gokuleshwar in Baitadi shared that he ran out of house together with his family members as they felt the quake around 9:30 pm yesterday. No reports of injuries or damages have been reported, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Heramba Sharma at the District Police Office, Baitadi. Earlier last month, a mild quake of 4.9 magnitudes had hit Bajhang district.
