Dolakha, October 3 Fifty per cent work on Charikot-Khadichaur road upgradation project has been completed. The 55km road aims to link Dolakha with Sindhupalchowk. While 30km Mude-Charikot stretch of the road is being constructed by Indian company Sakil Haidar and Shankar Mali Sunaulo Khimti JV, the remaining 25km stretch is being upgraded jointly by India’s Simanchal Company, and Gauri Parbati and Sunaulo Khimti JV. The upgradation project is being carried out under road improvement project of the Department of Roads with financial support from Exim Bank of India. According to Engineer Dipak Sapkota, representative of the contractor company Sakil Haidar Shankar Mali Sunaulo Khimti JV, 48 per cent work on the road upgradation project has been completed. “The project will be completed by the end of this fiscal,” he added. The upgradation of the road is estimated to cost Rs 700 million. Similarly, 60 per cent of work on upgradation of the Mude-Khadichaur section has been completed so far. “We will complete the remaining work in a year,” said Engineer Nilkantha Poudel, representative of Indian Simanchal Company and Gauri Parbati Khimti JV. Upgradation of the stretch is estimated to cost Rs 449.1 million.
