KATHMANDU: A two-member judo team on Tuesday left for Tajikistan to take part in the fifth International Judo Tournament — Cup of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan — to be held in Dushanbe from October 4-6. Judoka Shreeram Makaju will compete in the men’s below-90kg weight category — the only event included in the tournament, informed Nepal Judo Association. Makaju got the chance to participate in the competition as he had won gold medal in the weight category in the eighth Ambika Bahadur Chhetri Memorial Open Judo Tournament held at the International Sports Complex in Lalitpur in August. Coach Ganga Bahadur Dangol accompanied Makaju to Dushanbe. Meanwhile, NJA President Deepak Harsha Bajracharya bade farewell to the team.
