Six injured as bus plunged off road in Kaski

POKHARA: At least six passengers were injured after a bus they were travelling on met with an accident at Paudur in Annapurna Rural Municipality-3, of Kaski district along the Pokhara-Baglung Highway on Thursday. The injured have been identified as Battu Saha (41), of Ranighat in Parsa district, Soni Gurung (26), and Bikram Gurung (32), both the resident of Kushma Municipality-4 in Parbat district, Samjhana BK (28), of Annapurna Rural Municipality-6 in the district, Ramu Pariwar (28), of Kushma Municipality-5 in Parbat district and Bindeswor Saha Rauniyar (50), of Bhawanipur, in Rautahat district. The accident occurred when the bus (Na 6 Kha 8936) en route to Pokhara from Baglung lost control and plunged around 10 metres off a roadside yesterday, injuring six of 23 passengers, according to Superintendant of Police (SP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar. The injured are undergoing treatment at the Pokhara-based Fishtail Hospital and Research Centre Pvt Ltd, informed police. Police said that there were no loss of life and additional loss of property was prevented as the bus got stuck on a tree after it fell below the road. Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
