Nepal bring home six gold medals from Taekwando c'ship

KATHMANDU: Nepal won a total of 21 medals including six gold medals in the 7th Tirak International Taekwando Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand. Nepali athletes won three gold medals each in fight and pumsae category. Ajit Gupta Teli, Rekha Maya Gurung and Parbati Gurung won gold in the fight category while Narmaya Gurung, Jasmin Gurung and Sandhya Thapa won the coveted gold medals in the pumse category, according to the team coach Roshan Khan. Nepal also won six silver and nine bronze medals. Athletes from South Korea, China, Indonesia, Myanmar, India, Pakistan, Malaysia had competed in the event held at the Assumption University Sports Centre in Bangkok on October 21.
