Two NSN candidates take back nomination

Khotang, October 25 Two Naya Shakti Nepal leaders who had filed their nominations as provincial assembly candidates from Khotang for the upcoming elections withdrew their nominations today. Mohan Gurung and Mani Rai have taken back their nominations. According to party sources, the party got the duo to back off amidst talks with other parties to ensure victory for its parliamentary election candidate Madan Rai. “As withdrawal of nominations was not possible after today, the candidates withdrew their nominations in advance to facilitate cooperation with other parties for the election of our parliamentary candidate,” said party leader Surya Bahadur Rai. Meanwhile, a Rastriya Prajatanta Party-Democratic leader intending to withdraw his nomination could not do so as he failed to turn up at the office concerned during the designated time. RPP-D parliamentary election candidate Dharmaraj Pokhrel could not withdraw his candidacy after he failed to turn up at the office of chief election office before 1:00pm.
