Khotang, October 30 Candidates and party activists have intensified the election related activities, including door-to-door campaigning, other publicity and mass gatherings for the upcoming provincial and parliamentary elections slated for November 26 in Khotang. Most of the forces have begun their election campaign by preparing a clear schedule for all the 79 wards of two municipalities and eight rural municipalities of the district. Nepali Congress candidate for provincial assembly ka — Subash Kumar Pokharel — launched his election campaign from Bahunidanda of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality Ward 1 from October 27. He continued his campaign at Dikuwa area of Ward 2 of the municipality on October 28, Chyasmitar of Ward 3 of the municipality on October 29 and Durchhim/ Mangaltar area on October 30. He is scheduled to conclude this door-to-door election campaign upon reaching district headquarters Diktel on November 22. NC candidate for the House of Representatives from the district Saraswoti Bajimaya and state assembly kha candidate Bishnu Kumar Rai also started their election campaign from today. Rai started his election campaign from Barahapokhari of Barahapokhari Rural Municipality-1 and he is supposed to conclude his campaign upon reaching Ratanchha of Sakela Rural Municipality on November 19. NC Parliamentary election candidate Bajimaya also initiated her election campaign from Barahapokhari today and is supposed to conclude the campaign at district headquarters Diktel after publicity campaign at Dhartung, Chisapani, Khotangbazaar, Indrenipokhari, Diprung and Mattim, among other places, on November 22. The election campaign of left alliance candidate of the CPN-UML Bishal Bhattarai for parliamentary election started from Bahunidanda of Haleshi Tuwachung Municipality-1 from Sunday. Bhattarai’s election campaign is scheduled to conclude at Dhartung after visiting Halesi, Kubhinde, Kharmi, Baksila, Dorpachiuridanda, Manebhanjyang, Eiselukharka, Dumredharapani, Durchhim, Dikuwa and Dipsung, among other places on November 20. Similarly, another left alliance candidate CPN-UML’s Rajan Rai for the state assembly ka started election campaign from Halesi and Kubhinde on Monday while state assembly kha candidate CPN-MC’s Ram Kumar Rai began his election publicity campaign from Barahapokhari on the same day. The election publicity campaign for both parliamentary and provincial elections of the left alliance will conclude at Dhartung on November 20. Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal parliamentary election candidate Krishna Kumar Rai also launched his publicity campaign from Dikuwa of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality today and it will conclude at Lafyang. Likewise, the party’s state assembly ka candidate Nabin Rai launched his election campaign from Patheka today and it will conclude at Bamrang on November 22. Similarly, another candidate for state assembly kha of the party Tanka Thapa started his poll campaign from Yamkha today. Meanwhile, Naya Shakti Party-Nepal’s parliamentary election candidate Madan Rai started his poll publicity campaign on October 22. Popular as an agro-expert, Rai started his door to door campaigning from Rupakot-Majhuwagadhi Municipality of the district.
