Chitwan, November 11 CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said the first Cabinet meeting of the government formed after the polls would take the decision to settle squatters’ problem. Addressing a programme attended by squatters in Ward No 14 of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, Dahal said the government of the left alliance after the polls would provide education, health and employment facilities apart from land certificates to squatters. “New government will not only provide land ownership certificate but it will also assist to construct houses,” he added. Dahal reminded of his contribution to construct shelters for squatters some 38 years ago in Chitwan’s Bhimsennagar Gaucharan. “The problem of squatters will be resolved soon after the polls,” Dahal said, adding that during his premiership he had stopped the campaign to remove squatters from many places and distributed land ownership certificate to them. At the event, squatters complained that they had been used as vote bank by poll candidates in the past. “No one has come to ask for votes giving land ownership certificate prior to the polls,” they said. Squatters also demanded jobs and health facilities. “Reservation should be for the poor not for any particular caste,” they demanded.
