KATHMANDU: Ideal, Olympia, Saipal, White House and Golden Gate College advanced to the quarter-finals of the Alfa Beta Inter-college Futsal Tournament here at the Sankhamul Futsal on Wednesday. In Group B matches, Ideal thrashed Nami 4-0 in the first game and returned to beat Little Angels’ 5-0. Olympia saw off Little Angels’ 3-1 and thrashed Nami 4-0 to make it to the last eight. In Group B, Saipal recorded a 4-2 win against Liverpool and defeated Kanjirowa 4-0 to advance to the quarters. Also, Kanjirowa beat Uniglobe 5-2, while Liverpool defeated Uniglobe 3-1 to keep their hopes alive for the last eight. In Group C, White House beat Whitefield 4-1 in first match and returned to beat Inside Vision by the same scoreline to book berths in the quarter-finals. Likewise, Inside Vision saw off British College to keep their hopes alive. In Group D, Golden Gate registered a 3-1 win over Ullens before beating AVM 3-0 to sail into the quarters. Similarly, Times defeated AVM 3-0 in another match of the group. A total of 16 teams are competing in the league-cum-knockout tournament being organised by Alfa Beta Institute Pvt Ltd. The top three teams will take home Rs 100,000, Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively, while the best player of the tournament and highest scorer will get Rs 10,000 each.
