KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development on Thursday launched the website with the map of the local levels and the map portal. All the details to the ward level of the 753 local levels of the country can be accessed at the website - www.mofald.gov.np/GIS. It is based on the interactive GIS portal, the Ministry stated. Ministry secretary Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya said the portal would help make the local levels information-friendly based on information technology and to deliver good governance and transparent services by internalising the information technology. He said the local levels can add or remove its information on the website and maps as per the need. The Ministry has allocated a grant of Rs 600 thousand to each local level for conducting training on IT and also assigned one information officer to every local level. A mobile app for the Ministry has also been developed along with the website, according to Thapaliya.
