PHIDIM: Voters in Panchthar are eagerly awaiting the results of the first phase of provincial and parliamentary elections held in the district. Vote count is scheduled to start after the second phase of elections on December 7. “I’m eagerly waiting for the time when we will finally get to hear the results,” said Sarita Dahal, a local of Phidim. Of a total 125,219 registered voters, 77,682 cast their ballots in the first phase of elections. The district has one parliamentary seat and two provincial assembly seats. A total of 41,459 votes were cast in constituency-1 and over 36,000 votes in constituency-2. Following the polls, all 495 ballot boxes have been kept at Panchthar-based Employees’ Conciliation Centre and Panchthar Community Library.
