• OPMCM is facilitating the overall process of administrative restructuring

Kathmandu, December 1 The government has started performing its functions, duties and powers as per the interim management action plan for the implementation of federalism and administrative restructuring. The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers said it was facilitating the overall activities relating to implementation of federalism and administrative restructuring. A press release issued by the OPMCM said the government had started its work under the federal setup of bureaucracy in a clause-wise manner referred to in the action plan. A meeting of secretaries of 22 ministries had recently decided to transfer the offices falling under the working area of the local levels, their duties, assets, budget and programmes to the concerned local units, as per point No. 15 of the action plan, it said. The OPMCM decided to form a committee led by secretary of the concerned committee to maintain inter-ministry coordination to carry out the task of decentralising the government administrations. The committee includes a representative from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development as member. All the ministries have been told to submit their progress report to the OPMCM weekly regarding the works being done  for decentralisation of their functions, duties and powers.
