Dhangadi, December 2 Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba urged voters to make a sensible choice between democracy and authoritarianism before casting their ballots in the  second phase of parliamentary and provincial elections. Addressing an election gathering in Belauri of Kanchanpur today, PM Deuba said the country would face the risk of autocracy if the left alliance emerged victorious in the polls. “Besides the impending risk of autocracy, the country’s development and prosperity would suffer setback if the left alliance won the elections. So, I want voters to be aware of this grave danger,” he said. He added that there could not be peace and prosperity in the country without NC’s victory in the elections. “Congress is the grand historic party that toppled the Rana regime and sowed the seed of democracy. Again, it was NC that effectively brought Maoist rebels to mainstream politics,” PM Deuba said.
