Kathmandu, December 5 EPL Pvt Ltd is set to give Tribhuvan University Stadium a face lift apart from having new attractions and facilities to attract audience during the TVS Everest Premier League slated for December 18-30. The organisers have planned day-to-day entertainment along with crowd engagement activities, cheerleaders, food stalls, public toilets, parking facilities and ticket counters across all IME Centres, informed EPL Pvt Ltd Managing Director Aamir Akhtar at a press meet today. Akhtar also said that a 16X9ft outdoor LED screen will be installed along with fully synchronised sound system around the stadium as well as separate seating arrangements for VIP guests. “We will also have owners lounge, media pavilion and general seats during the EPL,” added the former national cricket team member. Akhtar also informed that ticket will be available for Rs 100 and students will get 50 per cent discount. “We want to develop cricket culture like other countries where spectators come and support their respective clubs or cities,” he said. Chief Operating Officer Binod Das said they wanted to make EPL the must-see event. “We are coming up with new ideas and putting in our best efforts to make the event a grand success with the support of all,” said the former national cricket team captain. Six city-based teams — Lalitpur Patriots, Kathmandu Kings XI, Chitwan Tigers, Pokhara Rhinos, Biratnagar Warriors and Bhairahawa Gladiators — are competing in the Twenty20 cricket tournament which will be played under round-robin format with top four making it to the playoffs. The winners of the tournament will take home Rs 2.1 million.
