KATHMANDU: Over 67 per cent votes have been cast across the country in the provincial and parliamentary elections held in two phases, said Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhee Prasad Yadav. In a press meet organised to thank the voters and to announce the success of the elections, Yadav said that the voting process went smoothly except for minor disruptions. Voters exercised their franchise enthusiastically, he said. Polling was disrupted in one booth of Syangja and Arghakhachi each due to disputes between the polling agents of different political parties.  Yadav said polling would resume in these places soon. 45 districts went to the polls today to elect representatives for lower house of the Federal Parliament and State Assemblies. The first phase of provincial and parliamentary elections was held on November 26.
