Winners root for Biratnagar as provincial capital

Biratnagar, December 10 Newly-elected members of Parliament from Morang said they were committed to making Biratnagar the capital of Province 1. Addressing a victory rally organised in Biratnagar, elected candidates from the left alliance said that they would take strong initiatives to establish Biratnagar as the capital of the province. Of the six constituencies in Morang, the left alliance won elections in five constituencies. Ghanashyam Khatiwada, Bhanubhakta Dhakal, Amanlal Modi, Shiva Kumar Mandal and Lal Babu Pandit jointly said they would fulfil the commitments they had made before the polls. Khatiwada, who was elected from Constituency No 1, said he would work in such a way that youths did not have go to Gulf countries for employment. “I will fulfil promises that I made before the elections,” he said. Similarly, Dhakal, who was elected from Constituency No 3, said he would devote himself to nation building for the next five years. “There is no alternative to Biratnagar for the capital of the province,” he added. Modi, who was elected from Constituency No 4, said he would serve people who elected him, for the next five years. “There is no doubting that Biratnagar will be the provincial captial,” he said, adding that the process of linking Biratnagar with villages would start. Mandal, who was elected from Constituency No 5, said he would take initiatives to establish the provincial capital in Biratnagar. “We will take the country towards economic development in the next five years,” he added. Pandit, who was elected from Constituency No 6, said Biratnagar would be made the capital of Province 1.
