RJP-N, FSF-N win eight seats in Saptari

Rajbiraj, December 11 Of the 12 constituencies, including four parliamentary and eight provincial, candidates of Madhes alliance emerged victorious in eight seats while Nepali Congress and CPN-UML won two seats each in Saptari. Madhes alliance candidates won parliamentary elections in constituencies 1, 2 and 3 of the district. Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal’s Dr Surya Narayan Yadav was elected from Constituency No 1, Chairperson of the party Upendra Yadav was elected from Constituency No 2 and Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal’s Chandra Kanta Chaudhary won from Constituency No 3. Yadav garnered 21,712 votes while his closest rival left alliance candidate Ashok Kumar Mandal garnered 18,225 votes in Constituency No 1. Similarly, in Constituency-2, FSF-N chair Yadav obtained 21,620 votes against his closest rival left alliance candidate Umesh Yadav’s 11,580 votes. RJP-N’s Chaudhary got 22,584 votes while his closest rival NC’s Dinesh Kumar Yadav got 19,401 votes. He had faced defeat in the first and second Constituent Assembly elections from the same constituency.
