KMC observes 23rd metropolitan day

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City on Friday marked the 23rd Metropolitan Day.

Speaking amid a programme, City's Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya said that civil participation in development endeavors is a prerequisite for ensuring sustainable peace and prosperity.

Moreover, the Mayor stressed on the need of people's direct participation in development efforts to attain expected results.

Likewise, KMC's Deputy Mayor, Hari Prabha Khadgi said,'Effective implementation of concept of integrated development will help to realise the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).'

On the occasion, Himalayan Bank and Sushila Devi Basnet of Kathmandu-2 were honoured with the 'best taxpayer' award. Likewise, KMC Office employees completing 25 years of service were given the 'long-term service award'.
