KP Sharma Oli likely to lead new leftist govt: Leader Pandit

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML leader Lal Babu Pandit has asserted that party chairman KP Sharma Oli is most likely to lead new government formed under the leftist alliance. Speaking at an interaction programme in Bhaktapur on Friday, former General Administration Minister Pandit said the two party, UML and CPN-Maoist Centre would unite only after the top leaders forge consensus on division of positions of leaders and cadres. 'If I were to be given the responsibility of Home Minister, I would minimise 50 per cent crime rate in the country,' Pandit claimed. 'Any ministers with work-polices and strategies can wipe out crime by 50 per cent,' Pandit said, moreover added that he has a special plan to minimise crime related to political connections. 'It won't take too long to change the facet of Nepal. If all the Ministers take their responsibility full heartedly, Nepal can leap forward in term of development,' UML leader Pandit added. Speaking on a different note, leader Pandit said intense discussions have been held regarding the declaration of provincial capital of late. He also said that provincial capitals would be announced by the Provincial Assembly in line with people's sentiment while making the decision. The country is likely to plunge into constitutional crisis if the government is not formed by January 21.
