Illegal hemp destroyed in Chitwan

RATNANAGAR: Police have destroyed illegal hemp cultivated on large area in Lothar, a remote area of Chitwan district.

The police pulled out the hemp plants grown on around nine bighas of land at Bakhrang, Yuralitar, Kalikatar and Dhanawang and neighbouring places in Lothar, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Shiv Sharma Acharya, spokesperson at the District Police Office, Chitwan.

Acting on a tip-off  the District Police Office had mobilised a team of 93 police personnel to the areas and destroyed the illegal hemp cultivation as per its special security plan on Friday and Saturday, according to DSP Acharya.
