Reconstruction of quake damaged drinking water, sanitation projects completed

KATHMANDU: The reconstruction work of 904 drinking water and sanitation projects damaged in the Gorkha earthquake has been completed, according to the National Reconstruction Authority. A total of 3,212 drinking water and sanitation projects in 17 districts were damaged in the 2015 earthquake. NRA Spokesperson Yam Lal Bhusal informed that reconstruction works of 965 projects are underway. A total of Rs 1.10 billion has been allocated for the reconstruction of damaged drinking water and sanitation projects in the current fiscal year, according to NRA. Bhusal said that reconstruction progress of drinking water and sanitation projects has reached 48 per cent.
