Hospital starts treating TB patients using modern equipment

NAWALPARASI: Prithvi Chandra Hospital, the oldest hospital of west Nawalparasi, has installed modern equipment for treating the tuberculosis patients. The hospital has started providing service with an objective of helping people in treatment of tuberculosis by installing fully automatic machine for the first time in the district, said Chairman of the Hospital Development Committee, Santosh Kumar Shrivastav. The National Tuberculosis Centre had provided the 'GeneXpert' machine to the hospital that costs around Rs 5 million. The machine helps in the diagnosis of TB and the actual condition of the patients within two hours. Chairman Shreevastav said that four patients can undergo treatment at a single time from the machine.
