Lalitpur, January 7 Roshan Bahadur Dong of PAM won the men’s 60kg weight category gold medal in the 15th National Judo Tournament here today. Dong defeated Karma Lama in the final. Nepal Police Club’s Sanjit Dangol defeated Tribhuvan Army Club’s Jung Bahadur Saru to win the below-73kg event gold medal, while NPC’s Shreeram Makaju outplayed TAC’s Ramesh Chand in 90kg final. NPC’s Rajan Joshi claimed the below-100kg event gold with a victory over Ashish Ojha of Kanchanpur. In women’s category, TAC’s Phupu Lhamu Khatri outplayed her teammate Nirmala Gharti Magar to win the below-63kg event gold, while Nepal APF Club’s Devika Khadka beat Anju Pandey of Premier Dojo in the 52kg final. TAC’s Punam Shrestha defeated Bhawana Gharti Magar of NPC to win the below-76kg gold medal. PAM’s Indra Bahadur Shrestha, who won gold medal in the men’s below-60kg event, and TAC’s Manita Shrestha Pradhan, who bagged gold medal in the women’s below-57kg, were named the best players of the tournament.
