Kathmandu, January 13 Nepal faced a 340-run defeat against Sri Lanka in their third match of the fifth Blind Cricket World Cup at the Ajman Oval Ground in Dubai today. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored a mammoth 494-4 in their allotted 40 overs and packed Nepal for 154 runs in 33.4 overs. The defeat meant Nepal, who lost against Pakistan and Bangladesh in their previous matches, are out of the top four race. Sri Lanka posted the huge total riding on Chandana Deshappriya’s unbeaten 129 runs and Dimuthu Ravindra’s 108 runs. Priyantha Kumara added 69 runs. Nepal’s Durga Dutta Paudel and Surya Bhattarai claimed one wicket each. In reply, Badri Chaulagain top scored for Nepal with 37 runs off 47 balls that included three fours. Sunil Thapa Magar added 25 runs and Ramesh Baniya contributed 22 runs.
