Maoists seize two kerosene tankers

Nepalgunj, February 12:

Maoists today captured two tankers of the Nepal Oil Corporation from Aghaiya forest of Banke district.

Three tankers were on the way to Dang from Nepalgunj when the Maoists seized the two tankers each with about 24 kilolitres of kerosene.

The third tanker managed to return to Nepalgunj. Meanwhile, Maoists detonated a powerful bomb in Nepalgunj on Sunday evening.

Meanwhile, Maoists set two trucks on fire in Basamadhi area of Makwanpur this evening.

According to eyewitnesses, Maoists torched two heavy-loaded trucks heading from Hetaunda to Narayangarh on charge of defying their transport strike, which was said to have been effective from today in the Narayani zone.

Maoists also snatched keys of one dozen of trucks and asked the drivers to return home. They also stopped one dozen of buses in Chuniya Baghmara area of the district leaving hundreds of passengers stranded there.
