POKHARA: Police have arrested three persons in connection with the Ranjana murder from Amar Singh Chok of Pokhara on Monday. A team deployed from the Kaski Police Office arrested the deceased’s husband Ananda Mohan Sharma (30), brother-in-law Arvind Thakur (35) and sister in law Riku Kumari Sharma for their alleged involvement in the murder of 22-year-old Ranjana Sharma. According to SP Ashok Singh, Chief at the Kaski DPO, the trio were arrested after the Kaski police received a letter from the Dhanusha District Police Office regarding the issue. Arrestee Ananda works as a computer operator at the Institute of Forestry in Pokhara, and Thakur works in the Rastriya Banijya Bank in the district. Ranjana was murdered for failing to bring dowry after her marriage with Ananda, claimed the deceased’s parents in December last year. However, the arrestees have been claiming that they had gone to Pokhara when the incident took place. Meanwhile, the Dhanusha District Court had sentenced a jail term to Ranjana’s father-in-law Dev Narayan Thakur.
