Kavre, January 29 The construction work on well-managed settlements has not begun even 15 years after  the National Settlement Company bought necessary land at Shreekhandapur of Dhulikhel Municipality in Kavre. The company had bought 54 ropani land in 2002 for construction of planned settlements at Shreekhandapur. However, the company has not moved the project ahead. Meanwhile, a staff was appointed by the company to look after the land for some nine years. Reportedly, the proposed construction site was the dumping site of Banepa Municipality due to which the company did not pay serious attention to the need to initiate the project. The company has started dam construction of late, after splitting the border of Punyamata Khola. Planning Chief Sangita Dhaubadel of the company said a master plan of the project was under way. She added that plotting, graveling, road construction, electricity management, among others, would be managed this fiscal after the master plan is approved. She said the company aimed to construct model houses on the land following the earthquakes. “The settlements were not constructed due to lack of budget,” she said. The company plans to construct 100 houses with garden, parking, drinking water, and electricity facilities.
