Kathmandu, January 30 Nepali boxer Punam Rawal confirmed at least bronze medal in the women’s 64kg weight category of the Indian Open International Boxing Tournament in New Delhi today. In the quarter-final match, Rawal defeated Kholova Idimokh of Tajikistan 5-0 and booked her berth in the semi-final that confirmed the medal. Rawal will now face Indian opponent. “I am happy for winning the first international medal and my target is to win gold medal for the country,” said Rawal. Earlier, Bimala Shrestha had confirmed bronze medal after reaching last four in the 54kg category. Meanwhile, Saraswoti Rana Magar faced defeat against Saweety Boora of India in 75kg quarter-final match.
