Missing schoolboy found after a week

LALITPUR: The boy, who had gone missing while hiking around Phulchoki hills, has been found on Wednesday afternoon after seven days.

John Tamang was found inside the dense jungle of Phulchoki, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Narendra Chand said.

'We have taken him to B & B Hospital after finding him,' DSP Chand informed, adding that the boy was all right and investigation would be carried out gradually on other matters pertaining to the incident. Tamang was found by the team of Rescue 3 South Asia. He was rescued by the regional director of the team Chandra Ale, who found the boy in a semi conscious state on a slope.

17-year-old Tamang, who studies at Ajaya Shiksha Sadan at Thasikhel, had been missing since January 25.

All the three security bodies – Nepal Police, the Armed Police Force and Nepal Army – had been carrying out a rescue search for him.

School principal Durga Bahadur Oli had taken 11 of his students including Tamang for hiking to Phulchoki last Thursday. Oli is currently under police custody.
