CHITWAN: Two persons died after the tanker they were travelling on plunged into Trishuli River in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-29 of Chitwan district today. Police identified the deceased as tanker driver Santa Bahadur Kumal and his assistant Lila Bahadur Kumal, both the residents of Kolhuwa in Nawalparasi district. The tanker (Ba 4 Kha 6953) fell about 100 metres below into the confluence of Seti River and Trishuli River after colliding with the truck (Na 4 Kha 4314) along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Prabhu Prasad Dhakal at the District Police Office, Chitwan. The tanker was carrying milk from Kohalpur to Pokhara when it collided with the truck heading towards Narayangadh from Muglin. Although police came to know about the incident at 6:13 am today, they have yet to ascertain the time when the incident occurred, said police. The bodies of the deceased have been recovered from the river while a squad from the Kurintar-based Armed Police Force is using a crane to pull out the four-wheeler that has been submerged in water and is partly visible. Presently, the truck fallen in the ditch is in a wrecked condition, police informed.
