NAGARKOT: Music concerts are to be organised in 40 countries around the world on February 13 to generate public awareness on HIV/AIDS, coinciding with the International Condom Day.

An organisation called 'Suruwat' is going to organise a concert at the premises of Padma Secondary School, Bhaktapur Durbar Area, on Tuesday.

The concert will feature a special performance by well-known artist Adrian Pradhan along with other local musical bands.

Suruwat's President Rajendra Puri said the concert aims to create public awareness among the youth to promote the use of condom for prevention of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

A condom rally would also be organised from Taumadhi to Durbar Square in Bhaktapur on the occasion. Free HIV tests would also be provided, said Rajesh Didiya, Suruwat's Director.

The music concert is being organised with the financial support of AHF Nepal under the aegis of National Association of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nepal (NAPN).
