Kathmandu, February 12 Political parties today submitted their list of winners of the parliamentary proportional representation election held on November 26 and December 7. Election Commission Spokesperson Navaraj Dhakal said all five national political parties — the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Centre, Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal and Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal submitted their list of winner candidates to the EC. Earlier, on Thursday, a meeting of EC office bearers presided over by Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav had unveiled the parliamentary PR list and sent a formal letter to the political parties asking them to recommend names of winner PR candidates from the list they submitted prior to the election, by 5:00pm today. ·         Rani Mandal ·         Amrita Agrahari ·         Nirjala Raut ·         Dulari Devi Khanga ·         Chanda Chaudhary ·         Renu Sharma Of the 49 political parties contesting the parliamentary PR election only five parties — UML, NC, CPN-MC, FSF-N and RJP-N crossed the three percent threshold and became national parties. Of the 110 total parliamentary PR seats, the UML got 3,173,494 votes (37.1 percent) and secured 41 PR seats in the Federal Parliament. The NC, received 3,128,389 votes (36.6 per cent) and got 40 seats.  The CPN-MC received 1,303,721 votes, (15.3 per cent) and got 17 seats. Likewise, RJP-N won 472,254 votes (5.5 per cent) and got six seats and the FSF-N, which won 470, 201 votes and got six PR seats. The EC said as per Sub-Article (6) of Article 84 of the constitution, parties had to ensure at least 33 per cent women participation in the federal parliament. The election body said the UML had recommend 37 names of women candidates, NC - 20, CPN-MC - 16, RJP-N - six and FSF-N five names from the lists those parties submitted at the EC prior to the election. Relatives and family members of senior leaders of all five parties are included in the recommended list. Among the recommended list of CPN-MC, Shashi Shrestha is wife of Leelamani Pokhrel, Onsari Gharti is former speaker and wife of Barsaman Pun, Yashoda Subedi Gurung is wife of Dev Gurung, Amrita Thapamagar is wife of Hit Man Shakya, Rekha Sharma is wife of Krishna Dhoj Khadka and Satya Pahadi is wife of Shakti Basnet. Issuing a press release, EC Spokesperson said the election body would scrutinise the recommended list of winners, and see whether the lists were correct as per the clusters.  He said the EC could give additional two days' time if the lists were found incorrect. Meanwhile, the poll panel said it had planned to submit the parliamentary PR election result to President Bidhya Devi Bhandari by February 14. READ ALSO:
