Her candidacy was proposed by the UML chief whip Bhumishwar Dhakal and seconded by the CPN MC chief whip Dadhi Ram Neupane.

Election of Deputy Speaker of the province is slated for February 18 and the State Assembly (SA) Secretariat had set today as the deadline for registering candidacy for the position from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Tharu was elected the SA member representing UML in the recently held elections to State Assembly.

Likewise, the main opposition Nepali Congress is also preparing to field SA member Rama Aryal for the post of Deputy Speaker of the province, said the NC.
