Global sign Airee; Sanima, Lamichhane ink deal

Kathmandu, February 22 Global IME Bank today signed national team member and U-19 team skipper Dipendra Singh Airee as the brand ambassador. Airee, Global IME Bank CEO Janak Sharma and General Secretary of Cricket Players Association Nepal Paras Khadka signed the memorandum of understanding at a programme. As per the one-year agreement which was facilitated by CPAN, Global IME would provide Airee with a total of Rs 400,000 — Rs 20,000 per month and kits. Airee thanked the bank for signing him as the brand ambassador. “I would like to thank Global IME Bank for taking me in as a brand ambassador,” said Airee. National team skipper Khadka said such appointments would encourage players to perform even better in the field. “We would like to thank Global IME Bank for the support to Nepali cricket,” said Khadka. “Two other banks are also supporting cricketers and we expect such support from others as well,” he added. Global IME Bank CEO Sharma said he was happy to be associated with cricket. “We will definitely think about helping others or supporting by other means in the future,” said Sharma. “We wish best of luck to the team.” At a separate programme, Sanima Bank renewed the sponsorship deal with sensational youth cricketer SandeepLamichhane. The national team member Lamichhane and CEO of Sanima Bank signed the MoU. The bank would provide Lamichhane with a total amount of Rs 960,000 in two years — Rs 40,000 per month. The two parties — with CPAN being the facilitator — had earlier signed one-year contract and Lamichhane had been receiving Rs 20,000 per month. Lamichhane thanked Sanima Bank for the gesture and said there was a long way to go for him. “I personally believe that I have so many things to do for the team and the nation,” said Lamichhane, the joint highest wicket-taker and man-of-the-series in the ICC World Cricket League Division-II in Namibia. “I would like to thank CPAN also as it connected me to Sanima Bank. I think the cricketers can do much better if they get favourable environment,” he added. CPAN General Secretary Khadka said Sanima Bank’s investment on Lamichhane had already started bearing fruits through Lamichhane’s performance on the field. “Now that we are going to participate in the World Cup Qualifiers, we need to take our cricket to the next level,” he added. Meanwhile, Sanima Bank brand ambassadors and senior artists Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya honoured national cricket team skipper Khadka and Lamichhane.
