APF clinch PM Cup Women's National Cricket title

DHANGADHI: Nepal APF Club has won the title of PM Cup Women's National Cricket Tournament thrashing Eastern Region by seven-wicket in the summit clash played at the Fapla cricket grounds in Dhangadhi on Sunday. Champions APF won a purse of Rs 500,000 while runner-up Eastern got Rs 200,000. At Fapla cricket grounds, APF chose to field after winning the toss before restricting Eastern for paltry 60-5 in the allotted 20 overs. APF reached the target in 16.3 overs losing three wickets. Only two batswomen including Kajol Shrestha (18) and Roma Thapa (12) scored in double figures for Eastern. APF’s Rekha Rawal, Karuna Bhandari, Ritu Kanojiya, Anjali Chand and Sita Rana Magar claimed one wicket each. Likewise, unbeaten Jyoti Pandey and Sarita Magar contributed 22 and 15 runs respectively for the departmental side. Shanti Chaudhary and Sangita Rai bagged one wicket each for runner-up Eastern. Eastern skipper Rubina Chhetry was declared woman-of-the-series and best bowler while Kajol Shrestha of the same team was declared best batswoman for smashing a total of 106 runs throughout the tournament. Likewise, Laxmi Saud of Far-western was announced as the rising player. Player-of-the-series was given Rs 10,000 while other received Rs 5,000 each.
