DHANGADHI: District Court Kailali on Monday has ordered judicial custody to alleged Tikapur carnage conspirator Resham Chaudhary. A single bench of Justice Parshu Ram Bhattarai issued the order to this effect. According to the court’s Registrar Indra Bahadur Kathayat, the court has ordered judicial custody as per the court’s proceedings, chapter number 118. Following the court’s order, police have arrested the elected Member of Parliament Chaudhary from court premises and will place him on next trial on February 28, 2018. Moreover, three charges - attempt to murder, murder and robbery - have been filed against Chaudhary. Speaking to the media, Chaudhary remarked that he would respect the court while expressing reservations that the court’s order had somehow disrespected 34,000 voters who elected him as a member of the Parliament. Chaudhary, who was on the run after the Kailali incident, surrendered at the Kailali District Court today. Chaudhary won parliamentary first-past-the-post election from Kailali Constituency No. 1 on Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal’s ticket. The elected MP fielded his nomination paper through his attorney and won the election by a margin of more than 20,000 votes. However, he has not received the election victory certificate. READ ALSO:
