TAC, Help Nepal set final encounter

Kathmandu, March 2 Tribhuvan Army Club and Help Nepal Sport Club advanced to the men’s category final of the fourth NST-NVA National Club Volleyball Tournament here at the NSC covered hall today. In the semi-final matches, Help Nepal defeated Nepal Police Club 3-2, while TAC beat Nepal APF Club in straight sets. In the first semi-final match, Help Nepal took the first 25-21 before NPC bounced back to win the second 25-14 and levelled the scores. Help Nepal restored the lead with a 25-22 victory in the third set. NPC claimed fourth set 25-22 and took the match to the fifth and final set. In the competitive deciding set, Help Nepal prevailed 15-12. In another match, TAC defeated APF 25-18, 25-21, 27-25 to set championship date with Help Nepal. In women’s section, Shivam New Diamond Academy and Nepal APF Club entered the final. NDA defeated NPC 3-1 in the first semi-final match. NDA claimed the first set 25-23 before NPC won the second 25-21. NDA then took the third set 25-16 to restore the lead. NPC put up a strong show in the fourth set but they just failed to stop NDA from registering a 28-26 win. In another semi-final match, APF thrashed departmental rivals TAC 25-12, 25-11, 25-19. The winners and runners-up in both categories will take home Rs 150,000 and Rs 60,000 respectively, while the best players will get Rs 15,000 each.
